The Service géologique du Luxembourg (SGL) (Geological survey of Luxembourg)  is a division of the 'Administration des ponts et chaussées' and acts under under the responsibility of the Ministry for sustainable development and infrastructures. its main tasks today are studies, expertise and research, mainly in the fields of geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, geomorphology, mineral resources and also geothermal ressources. The SGL acts as a public service for various national governmental bodies and local communities. It is member of Eurogeosurveys and national representation of the IUGS.
